This round grain rice is of the J. Sendra variety that grows in the heart of the natural park of the Albufera in Valencia (Spain).
It is medium grained with a very visible central pearl making it suitable for all kinds of elaborations offering a very juicy and pleasant texture.
This rice descends from the variety Senia, important reference of the local cuisine, keeping its main feature: the proper absorption of the broth that takes all the flavour on the palate.
Protected Designation of Origin and quality certification
"La Espiga del Palmar" has the quality certificate recognized and awarded by the Regulatory Board of the D.O.P. "Rice of Valencia", when producing the rice varieties "Albufera" and "J. Sendra "covered by this Regulatory Council.
This indicates that they cultivate local varieties in the right natural environment with an irrigation system that favours the homogeneous ripening of the grain so that it reaches the maximum industrial and culinary quality.
